Timothy L. Hensick was born, raised and has lived his entire life in the State of Michigan. Mr. Hensick received his Bachelor of Science Degree in History and Political Science from Western Michigan University in 1974 and his Juris Doctor Degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1978. Mr. Hensick was employed as public school teacher in Stockbridge, Michigan, prior to attending Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Mr. Hensick is self-employed in the private practice of law, commencing in 1978. Mr. Hensick’s primary practice, for many years, has been in the area of Domestic Relations or Family Law, concentrating on Divorce, Child Support, Physical & Legal Custody, Parenting Time (Visitation), Property Issues, Business Division, Paternity and Domestic Violence. Mr. Hensick has a lengthy public service history, having served in various associations and on numerous boards including; the Howell Public School Board (President), the Livingston County Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Livingston-Oakland County legal Aid Association, the Howell Chamber of Commerce, United Way and American Red Cross. Mr. Hensick is the former Host of the “Ask the Lawyer” Show broadcast on Super Talk Radio1570 AM. Mr. Hensick is trained and experienced as a Mediator and has served as a court appointed Mediator on both, domestic relations cases and general civil matters and has experience as a court appointed Guardian Ad Litem. Mr. Hensick was licensed in1978 and is a member of the State of Michigan Bar Association with privileges to practice in all state courts.
He received his Juris Doctor Degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1982, graduating in the top 10% of his class. He was admitted to the Michigan State Bar in 1982 and has practiced continuously for over 27 years. Mr. Hanson served as the Livingston County Friend of the Court during the time when the Michigan Legislature passed sweeping and comprehensive changes in the Friend of the Court System. He assisted on many statewide initiatives, including early initiatives aimed at developing the Uniform Child Support Guidelines and the Computerization of all Friend of the Court Offices in a Standardized Format. He also served as the Deputy Director of the Washtenaw County Friend of the Court Office during implementation of the state wide Child Support Enforcement System. Mr. Hanson concentrates his practice in the areas of Family law, including Divorce, Property Issues, Business Division, Child Support, Physical & Legal Custody, Paternity and Estate planning. Mr. Hanson is a trained and experienced Mediator and has served in the capacity of court appointed Mediator, Referee and Arbitrator. He is a member of the State of Michigan Bar Association, the Genesee County Bar Association, a former member of both the Livingston County and Washtenaw County Bar Associations, a member of the Family Law Section of the Michigan Bar Association. |
